Fact-Check #1: A Fight For Charles Manson’s Body?

Charles Manson died on November 19, 2017, thus ending the story of the infamous cult leader who founded the Manson Family, and whose followers committed 9 murders in the summer of 1969.

Or so we thought.

According to TMZ, Charles Manson’s story might not be over yet. In an article titled, “CHARLES MANSON 3 FINALISTS VYING FOR BODY!!! Judge To Sort it Out“, 3 different individuals are fighting for the possession of his body. They are:

  • Micheal Channels, who, according to TMZ, submitted Manson’s first will, which is only partially legible. He is listed as a witness in the will, which challenges the document’s validity.
  • Matthew Robert Lentz, who claims to be Manson’s son, and has already submitted a will- though with only 1 witness instead of the required 2.
  • Jason Freeman, who claims to be Manson’s grandson, and has filed legal documents to prove that he is Charles Manson Jr.’s son. The only problem is that Charles Manson allegedly told prison officials that he had no family.

An unnamed judge is apparently set to sort everything out.

And that’s all the information featured in the article. It’s very  short, and there are very little specifics. It almost doesn’t seem real.

Let’s fact-check this.
